Endovascular

Endovascular (into the blood vessel) AV fistulas are formed percutaneously (through the skin), in a non-surgical approach. Non-surgical AV fistula creation uses a needle to access the artery and vein. A device is inserted, and energy is used to connect the vessels together. The procedure creates an endoAVF that can support the blood flow needed to support hemodialysis(see below).
