Module 3 of Kidney School provides information about the chronic healthcare team members, including patient as self-manager. The purpose of Kidney School Continuing Education courses is to educate renal professionals about the medical and psychosocial impacts of end stage kidney disease, as well as patients’ experience of coping with this chronic condition.

Objectives

After taking this course, participants will be able to:

  • List the key members of the dialysis healthcare team
  • Identify the patient’s role on the healthcare team
  • Describe the roles of the team members that are a part of the dialysis team
  • Identify three ways that patients can take responsibility for their health care.

This course is for:

  • Nurses and Dialysis Technicians

This continuing nursing education activity was approved by Medical Education Institute, approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP-17088, for 1 contact hour.
