Reducing the burden of care is essential to help patients dialyze to live—not live to dialyze. In this course, you will learn how to help patients navigate training and the first few stressful months at home, and make their treatment schedules fit their lives.
Objectives
- Identify three strategies to fit treatment to lifestyle to reduce patient or care partner burden of care
- Describe three ways to support new patients during the first 4 months at home
- Explain how to make the most of home patients’ clinic visits
Audience
Nurses and Dialysis Technicians. (This course can also serve as a home dialysis orientation for nephrologists and administrators.)
